Chopper Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented California Coast
A helicopter flying over a well-attended southern California beach unexpectedly began spiraling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Recordings shared online show the helicopter starting to spin above the beach then descending towards the perimeter of the shore, where it ends up lodged among palms and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Information
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were rushed to the hospital involving two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were harmed. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
