Earick Rules Out Spurs Acquisition Offer After Approach
Daniel Levy directed Spurs' relocation to the club's new home in 2019.
US technology mogul Earick has ruled out submitting an official acquisition offer for Tottenham.
Tottenham had before “firmly declined” an unofficial approach from a consortium spearheaded by Brooklyn Earick last month and maintained the organization was unavailable for purchase.
But UK takeover and merger rules dictated that, after an expression of interest declined, Earick's consortium had to submit a bid by late October or announce they would not proceed.
Official word of the choice was provided in a statement issued by the club to the financial markets, stating the club is “not in an acquisition window.”
Earick shared an snapshot of the statement on social media, remarking: “It's been a privilege interacting with the club and the owners' agents over the past few weeks.
“I maintain deep admiration for the club, its leadership, and its followers, and desire only the best.”
The club's board acknowledged the consortium for its “cooperative stance” in talks and for “acknowledging the definitive view” of the proprietors that the club is unavailable.
Earick is a one-time music presenter who also was employed in spacecraft research for the space agency before creating the innovation company, which concentrates on innovation, communications, athletics and recreation.
The informal offer was the latest expression of interest rejected by the club's board since the sudden departure of top executive the former chairman in the fall.
In early fall, the organization turned down approaches from former Newcastle United shareholder the financier's the investment firm and a group headed by Dr Roger Kennedy and Ng through Firehawk Holdings Limited.
Daniel Levy and his family hold about a significant stake of the parent company – which has an almost 87% stake in Spurs.
The executive was the the league's longest-serving chairman and is estimated to have earned in excess of fifty million pounds during his long tenure in the capacity.
However he was also the focus of ongoing dissent by Tottenham supporters, particularly last campaign as domestic league results were unsatisfactory.
The north London club won their first trophy in 17 years when they defeated the Red Devils in May's European final.
