In Australia's largest city, the pro-Palestine organization said 30,000 people had protested from Hyde Park to Belmore Park in the downtown area after a scheduled protest to the Opera House was prohibited by the New South Wales court of appeal last week.

Law enforcement estimated eight thousand participants attended the city demonstration, with a representative saying there had been "peaceful proceedings".

"Concerning the protest efforts, we'll definitely persist to protest for a free Palestine... for self-determination in Gaza, for support to reach and for residents to restore their communities," commented an activist.

Differing Opinions to Ceasefire Agreement

Various participants voiced optimism that the agreement could establish stability. Several expressed concerns of American participation and called on activists to continue urging the federal leadership to sanction Israel and end the trade in military goods.

Shamikh Badra, a local with Palestinian heritage based in Australia, expressed he wished the deal might enable him to reunite with his aging parent, who is still in Gaza without proper healthcare, to his current home, and to discover and lay to rest his brother, sister-in-law and their four children, who have been lost contact in 2023.

Separately, thousands joined a Jewish memorial service on the evening in Sydney's eastern suburbs to mark the second anniversary of 7 October. Geoffrey Majzner, the brother of Galit Carbone, an national who was killed during the attacks, was arranged to talk.

Sydney's pro-Palestine rally earlier included testimonies including four Australians released from Israeli detention after the halting of the activist vessels this month.

A participant, his injured limb after it was allegedly dislocated in an Israeli prison, told that limited details were clear about the peace agreement. Worldwide assistance agencies, including humanitarian bodies, were preparing to enter Gaza.

"As long as there is a situation where there's a brutal and illegal blockade on the territory," stated McEwen, boat protesters would persist in attempting to deliver aid by sea.

Another participant, who arrived home on Friday, gave an heartfelt address recounting his imprisonment with numerous other individuals in a detention facility.

Political Statements

The elected official Jenny Leong addressed participants: "We must not allow a reality where the former president decides the outcome for Palestinian communities to be the nature of existence we tolerate."

A different coordinator who submitted the original application to demonstrate at the famous location claimed that the participants could have peacefully gone to the famous harbourside venue. The NSW police assistant commissioner had previously told the court of appeal that the arrangement appeared dangerous.

The organiser said on Sunday: "Whenever the police attempt to oppose our demonstrations or court proceedings, it increases community attention... to the importance of gathering and oppose such actions."
